GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo. – Another wildfire started Sunday night near the Rifle Fish Hatchery in Garfield County that forced evacuations.
Colorado River Fire Rescue said firefighters were at the scene of a “growing brush fire” on Highway 325 near the hatchery and that notifications had been sent out for any available firefighting personnel to respond to the fire.
“CRFR has multiple apparatus and crews on scene,” the fire agency said in a tweet just after 9 p.m.

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said the area around the hatchery, to County Road 226 (Harvey Gap cutoff), was given evacuation orders around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Evacuees are being directed to Rifle High School, the sheriff’s office said. The American Red Cross of Western Colorado has volunteers and emergency supplies there, the organization said.
The fire is located about 20 miles west of the Grizzly Creek Fire burning near Glenwood Springs.
