AURORA, Colo. — A "fast moving" brush fire in Aurora is now 100% contained, according to South Metro Fire Rescue.
The blaze began in the 3800 block of South Himalaya Way near Spring Creek Park.
One block of homes was evacuated, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office. That evacuation order has since been lifted.
Gusty winds made containment "challenging and dangerous," SMFR said in a tweet Monday evening.
An investigation into the fire's cause is underway. Witnesses saw fireworks over the Spring Creek Park open space before the fire began, according to SMFR.

On Tuesday morning, Delos Searle, the executive director of Arapahoe Park and Recreation District, said the fire damaged cattails and native grasses along No Name Creek but no other park structures.
"The entirety of Spring Creek Park and the nature trail will continue to operate as normal and be fully available to the community," Searle said.
This is a developing story and will be updated.
