HUERFANO COUNTY, Colo. -- Firefighters are battling a large wildfire next to Interstate 25 in Southern Colorado.

The 48 Fire, two miles south of Walsenburg, has burned about 2,000 acres, according to Huerfano County Emergency Services.

The fire started around 10:50 p.m. Thursday after a trailer was blown over by gusting winds, officials said.

No structures have been damaged or are threatened, according to Huerfano County Emergency Services.

"If the winds cooperate and do not create a flare-up, crews are comfortable with their progress," officials said Friday morning.
