Three months after she got a surprise visit from singer Taylor Swift, a Colorado teenager has lost her battle with cancer.

We first heard Delaney Clements' story in 2014, when her friend was banned from school after shaving her head to make Delaney feel better about being bald.

In December 2015, Delaney's condition, neuroblastoma, worsened and Delaney was moved from the hospital to hospice care. That's when Grand Junction radio station Mix 104.3 said Delaney had just one wish - to meet pop star Taylor Swift.

The Grand Junction community, then the state of Colorado, got behind the hashtag campaign #DelaneyMeetTaylor.

Days later, Swift was in Grand Junction and met Delaney.

So this just happened. Thank you Taylor Swift for the best Christmas present ever. #TaylorMeetDelaney

Two days ago, Delaney's mother wrote on Facebook that Delaney, "is sleeping more and more almost 16 plus hours a day. Her pain is well managed and her irritability is sky high. Every day is different. we know she is so deeply loved by everyone."

Monday, Delaney's family was on Facebook with the heartbreaking news that Delaney had passed away.

With all the sorrow a heart can hold, we are beyond grief at the loss of the most amazing person in our lives. Please...
