Authorities identify woman hit, killed on interstate

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — A Colorado woman who was struck and killed by a semitruck on interstate 70 has been identified.

The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports that Grand Junction police say 52-year-old Samantha Haber was hit Tuesday as she was walking on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mesa County Coroner Dean Havlik says the cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.

The incident happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. Police say the driver of the semi stayed on scene and was cooperative with police.

No charges have been filed.
