LA JUNTA, Colo. -- Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the Arkansas River.
The man's body was found Sunday morning near La Junta, at Colorado State Highways 50 and 119, according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
"The Otero County Sheriff's Office requested the assistance of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to assist with the investigation and the Otero County Coroner’s Office," according to CBI spokeswoman Susan Medina.
The man's identity has not yet been released.
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, officials said.
