COLORADO SPRINGS — The annual Labor Day Lift Off returns to the city of Colorado Springs for another year of ballooning fun!
This year the Labor Day Lift Off festival will be held from Saturday, September 2 to Monday, September 4 in Memorial Park.
“There are not many places that have Pikes Peak as a backdrop and all these beautiful mountains, plus having such a welcoming community. The balloonists feel very comfortable and very welcomed in the Colorado Springs area so that’s what makes this event so successful,” said Scott Appelman, Labor Day Lift Off’s director.
The weekend is sure to be an action-packed event full of musical performances, drone shows, balloon lift offs, balloon displays, lake events, and dazzling displays from skydivers and acrobats.
“For me, after doing this for so long, to me is seeing the smiles on people's faces. The five-year-olds, the two-years-olds, and the hundred-year-olds that are all out here. And being able to provide that experience and for our ride passengers that fly, being part of that memory for people,” said Appelman.
