PUEBLO, Colo. -- One person has been arrested, and two more people are wanted, after they tried to burn two patrol cars, according to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators said a deputy was taking a report about a stolen vehicle east of Pueblo, on Highway 96, Tuesday night, when Pueblo Police said the vehicle had been found about seven miles away at a home on Denver Blvd, on the north side of town.

Deputies said when law enforcement officers arrived at the Denver Blvd. home, they found the first stolen vehicle and a second stolen vehicle.

While sheriff’s deputies and police officers were investigating, three people in an SUV drove by and threw an unknown accelerant, deputies said.

That started a fire damaging at least one of the law enforcement vehicles.

Police chased the suspect's vehicle through several neighborhoods and on to the nearby interstate, deputies said.

On I-25, the driver lost control and went off the road. All three suspects ran, but one was caught and arrested.

Investigators said they recovered guns, drugs, cash and suspected stolen items from the suspects’ vehicle.
