CENTENNIAL, Colo. — When doctors told Angela Fuller that she needed spinal fusion surgery, I'm sure it would have been nearly impossible for her to imagine that one day she would be competing in one of TV's most famous athletic competitions.

Just after graduating from Colorado State University, the Littleton native got in a terrible car crash that shattered her back. She was barely able to walk, and the toll of giving birth to her two sons exacerbated her symptoms.

Shortly thereafter, Angela was told by doctors that she would need the aforementioned spinal fusion surgery. Instead, she chose a different path.

In the above story, you can hear about her journey, and what - or more importantly who - motivated her to turn her life around and find a road to recovery through fitness and spinning through the air. You can also watch her completely wipe the floor with me at Ninja Nation gym in Centennial.

Angela's appearance on "American Ninja Warrior" is set to air later this summer.
