ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — Construction recently started on a new housing development at the corner of E. Iliff Ave. and S. Yosemite St.

For years, the lot where this new development is located held rows of dilapidated homes and a firewood lot.

But now, Triplex Construction, a subsidiary of Alpert Homes, has plans to build 68 townhomes and about 120 single-family homes.

The townhome prices start at $300,000 and the single-family homes will start at $500,000.

“This project has taken about four to five years to get to the point that it’s at now,” said Triplex Construction President Michael Alpert.

“It was really an underutilized piece of property...there were 100-year-old ranch houses that were ready to come down,” Alpert said.

Alpert said that right now, construction crews are working on preparing the property for development and the homes are expected to be complete by fall 2020.
