According to an article in the Washington Examiner, the Transportation Security Administration is planning to trade pointy-ear dogs for floppy-ear ones because people are generally less scared of the latter.

The article quotes TSA Administer David Pekoske saying, "We find the passenger acceptance of floppy ear dogs is just better. It presents just a little bit less of a concern (and) doesn't scare children."

WXYZ reporter Matthew Smith talked to people at a Michigan airport, including a little girl who said she wasn't intimidated by dogs with pointy ears.
