A 29-year-old soccer player died after getting into a fight on the field on July 10, according to authorities in California.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, players from both teams, as well as spectators, were part of the melee at a soccer field at Oxnard High School, located at 3400 W. Gonzales Road in Oxnard. The fight happened around 11 a.m.
The man, who was later identified as Misael Sanchez of Port Hueneme, was taken to a hospital but died 15 days later on July 25, according to police.
An autopsy will determine what caused his death.
According to CBS News, a person was arrested but the investigation is ongoing.
"Investigators are still searching for witnesses or anyone who might have video recorded all or part of the fight," the police department said.
