Denver7’s parent company, E.W. Scripps, and its public charity, the Scripps Howard Fund, are teaming up to provide relief for Southern California as it is ravaged by several massive wildfires.
At least five people were dead and others were experiencing staggering loss as at least seven fires burned through the area. The Palisades Fire is already the most destructive in Los Angeles history, burning more than 17,000 acres and thousands of structures.
Even watching from a distance, there are ways you can help. One of them is by donating to the Scripps News and Scripps Howard wildfire relief fund. To do so, simply text SCRIPPS to 50155 or fill out the form below
Every dollar you give to the fund goes directly to those impacted by the devastating fires.
This campaign is a Scripps News initiative in collaboration with the Scripps Howard Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization. Contributions to this campaign are tax deductible.
The American Red Cross and Salvation Army were also accepting donations online.
Major companies were also stepping in to help. Uber was offering free rides to people who needed to evacuate, and AirBnb was providing temporary housing to those who were displaced.
California was also getting help from Colorado. Three Castle Rock firefighters hit the road Thursday to assist in battling the fires.
