LEHIGH ACRES, Fla.- A fight involving an adult man at Lehigh Acres Middle School in Florida was caught on camera.

The man can be seen picking up two different garbage cans and throwing them at people while students engage in physical fights.

Lenora Clark's 12-year-old son goes to Lehigh Acres Middle School. She gasped when Four in Your Corner's Lisa Greenberg showed her the video.

"It makes me concerned about the safety here at this school and the adult supervision," Clark said.

What bothered her and others more is that adults were involved.

"That's why the children are the way they are, because the adults are just as morbid, and that's what they're teaching their children," Clark said.

"It's absolutely absurd. I don't know what else to say. It's stupid," Judith Davis said. Her 11-year-old granddaughter goes to Lehigh Acres Middle School.

Fort Myers-based WFTX requested the incident report from the Sheriff's Office but we haven't heard back, so it's unclear who the man is and why he is there.

"I'd like to see some action taken," Davis said.

A spokeswoman for the Lee County School District said "We were aware of the incident last week and we are always doubly disappointed when adults engage in student conflict."

She said parents weren't notified because it was an after-school incident.

Clark pointed out the students standing around watching could have been seriously hurt, and said its time for change.

"We need a new society. We need new parents. We need parenting lessons. And this school needs to be concerned about safety," Clark said.

WFTX is working to get more information on the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
