GYPSUM, Colo. -- The Colorado Department of Transportation closed Interstate 70 near Gypsum Monday after a fuel tanker rolled over.

CDOT closed eastbound I-70 at milemarker 133. Westbound is closed at mile marker 140.

The Colorado State Patrol told Denver7 the tanker apparently attempted to manuver around a semi that carried empty cans after that semi lost control, spilling into other lanes of traffic. The fuel tanker did clip the other truck, spilling cans across the interstate.

The fuel tanker continued its crash into a median, overturning. When it overturned, its tanker ruptured, spilling about 2,100 gallons of fuel leaked, CSP said.

No injuries were reported.

Great Eagle Fire said the interstate will likely be closed for about eight hours. Highway 6 is being used as a detour.

Gypsum is in Eagle County, between Eagle and Glenwood Canyon.
