DENVER -- Loveland Ski Area will open Thursday at 9 a.m.
Loveland has been making snow and using snowcats to groom the runs for opening day.
Loveland will have one lift open Thursday.
Visitors will be able to use three trails -- Catwalk, Mambo and Home Run -- to ski or ride about 1,000 vertical feet on an 18-inch base.
"The persistent warm weather made things difficult this fall, but our snowmaking team has done an amazing job getting the mountain ready for opening day," said Rob Goodell, director of business operations.
Only one ski area is currently open in Colorado. Arapahoe Basin opened October 21.
Copper Mountain, Breckenridge and Keystone were scheduled to open this Friday, but have canceled that plan. Copper and Keystone pushed their opening dates to Friday, Nov. 18.
Breckenridge has not set a new date.
