ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) — Dozens of people are searching for a Fort Collins hiker whose last known location was the summit of Mount Meeker in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson said Saturday that 38-year-old Brian Perri summitedthe 13,911-foot (4,175-meter) mountain on June 30. Perri texted a photo of himself at the peak that day to a friend.
He hasn’t been heard from since.
Park officials were notified Thursday that Perri was missing, and his car was found at a trailhead.
Patterson says Perri was day hiking and had no camping equipment. She says more than 60 people are searching by ground along with helicopter crews.
