DENVER — The Regional Transportation District’s new mobile ticketing app just got a little more useful.
RTD has added the ability to purchase tickets ahead of time and then activate them when needed. When the app launched in November, tickets had to be used the same day they were purchased.
There’s a caveat: Tickets expire 45 days after they’re purchased, regardless of whether they’ve been activated, so don’t go loading up your phone with an entire year’s worth of passes.
The app still doesn’t allow purchases of single-ride tickets or monthly passes.
The RTD Mobile Ticketing app is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
