LOUISVILLE, Colo. – The Boulder County Coroner’s Office on Thursday identified the woman killed by a falling tree limb during Tuesday’s wind storm.
Lucinda Spencer, 62, of Lafayette died after being hit by the limb as she moved into an apartment near Walnut Street and Garfield Avenue in Louisville Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities said Spencer had stopped to rest under the tree as she was moving, and that a branch hit her head when it fell.
She was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center, where she died on Wednesday, the coroner said. Her cause and manner of death are still being investigated.
Louisville saw wind gusts of 89 miles per hour during Tuesday’s storm – the highest seen in the metro area and northern Colorado on Tuesday.
