2 crashes lead to I-70 closures near Eisenhower Tunnel, Eagle

DENVER — One lane is now moving after a crash on westbound I-70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel, but another crash near Eagle has led to a second closure Tuesday night.

The westbound lanes of I-70 closed near the Eisenhower Tunnel for a crash involving multiple vehicles some time before 8:15 p.m., according to Colorado State Patrol.

The crash happened near Herman Gulch Road which caused the westbound closure from the tunnel to the crash, CSP said.

Five vehicles, a semi-truck and a motorcycle were involved in the crash, according to CSP.

The extent of the injuries is not known, but one person was taken to the hospital, CSP said.

At 9:30 p.m., traffic could be seen moving again in one lane on the Colorado Department of Transportation cameras. One lane remains closed.

CDOT reported the second crash at 9:08 p.m. between exit 163 for Edwards and exit 157 for Colorado Highway 131, about five miles west of Edwards.

Details on the second crash were not immediately available.
