DENVER — A water main break near Sloan’s Lake that caused water pressure to drop in the area earlier Monday was repaired and water was restored to customers about 12 hours later.

At 8:13 a.m. Monday, Denver Water said it had received several reports from residents of water outages and low water pressure near Sloan's Lake Park.

"Our Emergency Services Team is working in the area and will provide more information as we receive it," Denver Water said in a tweet Monday morning.

Denver Public Schools said classes at Lake Middle School, along the eastern side of the lake, were canceled due to the outage.

Jose Salas with Denver Water said as of noon, they were still working to determine the issue and were searching 3,000 miles of underground pipes to find the issue.

Denver Water tweeted shortly before 8:30 p.m. that service had been restored to those customers impacted by the main break.

In addition, the Englewood Police Department said the utilities department was investigating a water main break on US 285 between S. Washington Street and S. Pearl Street. The right lane of the road was closed westbound. Water service will be affected for residents at 640 through 680 E. Jefferson Ave.

The Englewood Police Department said the repair will take the majority of the day.

The two outages have not been connected in any way as of Monday morning.
