WELD COUNTY, Colo. — The two men who died after a semi and train collided in Weld County Wednesday morning have been identified.

Trooper Gary Cutler with Colorado State Patrol said, based on the preliminary investigation, the semi failed to stop at a stop sign and was trying to make a right turn when it was struck by a Union Pacific train near U.S. Route 85 and CO-60. The collision happened around 8:19 a.m., Cutler said. The train pushed the semi about half a mile south before the semi caught on fire.

The driver of the semi has been identified as 53-year-old Carlos Garcia of Denver. Coronado Christopher, 33, of Commerce City, was a passenger.
