BRIGHTON, Colo. — Two dogs that were inside an otherwise empty home on Tuesday morning escaped after it went up in flames.

Natalie Ridderbos with Brighton Fire Rescue said nobody was in the home, located near E. 160th Avenue and Havana Street, when it caught fire. Somebody passing by the home noticed the fire and called authorities.

The two dogs that were inside escaped.

Brighton Fire said there were reports of an explosion in the garage, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
