DENVER – Firefighters are responding to a truck fire along Interstate 25 in the Denver Tech Center Wednesday morning.
A trash truck caught fire shortly after 5 a.m. on the ramp from southbound I-25 to Belleview. Firefighters said nobody was hurt in the fire.
A spokesperson for waste services company Republic Services said the truck was a compressed natural gas truck that was hauling recyclables. It wasn't clear if the fire was caused by a problem with the truck or something it was carrying.
The company said the truck was being towed to a local facility to undergo a full investigation.
The ramp from SB I-25 to Belleview was closed because of the fire, causing long delays in the interstate during the busy morning commute.
CDOT said the fire caused damage to the concrete barrier and the shoulder along the off-ramp that will be repaired at a later date.
