ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. — Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park has partially opened for the season.

Trail Ridge Road, the highest continuous paved road in the U.S., is open to Milner Pass west side, about 16 miles from Grand Lake Entrance, and Rainbow Curve on the east side, about 12 miles from the east side entrances.

Bikers and hikers are currently not permitted past Milner Pass on the west side and past Rock Cut on the east side because it is part of the closure area from the East Troublesome Fire.

Trail Ridge Road typically opens over Memorial Day weekend. It opened last year on June 4 and closed for the season on Nov. 17.
