A tow truck operator followed a driver who hit a boy near Colfax and Yosemite and took off.

Denver Police said the 10-year-old boy was walking in a crosswalk with his mother at about 6:40 a.m., when the driver made a left turn and clipped him with a white van. The boy wasn't seriously hurt.

The tow truck operator, who works for Aaliyah's Towing and Recovery, followed the van to Interstate 270 and Vasquez. The tow truck driver, Justin Decesari, said he cut off the van.

AIRTRACKER7 captured video of the van stopped on the shoulder and the tow truck stopped in front of it, blocking the shoulder and the left lane. Decesari was pulling a small RV with the tow truck.

Denver Police arrested the driver on 270.

Decesari said when he saw the driver leaving after clipping the boy, he thought, "I'm not letting you get away."

"I got three kids," Decesari said. "If someone would've run over my kid, I wouldn't have expected anything less."

"If we hadn't stopped this guy, God only knows what would've happened next. He could've done it again," Decesari told Denver7.
