Taden Jones left court covering his face on Monday.
The 18-year-old is accused of driving drunk and causing a crash on Friday afternoon that killed two women.
Police say he tried to give them a fake ID before they learned his true age. According to an arrest affidavit, Jones said he drank three beers before the crash.
Families of the victims and suspect were in court Monday. Jones was sobbing in the hallway with a family member before he left. He was freed on a $10,000 bond after being charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, and one count of reckless driving, vehicular homicide and possession of a forged instrument.
Stuffed animals are piling up along South Colorado Boulevard near East Peakview Circle to remember the victims where they died. Audrey Burton was 77. Gayle Buckwalter was 82. They were ejected from their vehicle.
Victims' family members told Denver7 they're asking for prayers.
