UPDATE (7:49 a.m.) — Joshua Gonzales has been found safe, according to Westminster police. Cheri Spottke said he was found walking in a parking lot near where he was last seen.
WESTMINSTER, Colo. — An alert has been issued for a teen who is considered "gravely disabled" and will not be able to recognize that he is in a dangerous situation, according to Westminster police.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation launched a Developmentally Delayed Alert late Wednesday night for Joshua Gonzales.
Gonzales, 14, was last seen around 7:15 p.m. around the 8400 block of Church Ranch Boulevard, which is east of Wadsworth Parkway.
Police said they believe he left the area with another child.
The teen "suffers from several mental health disorders," according to a press release from the police department. The teen is not able to comprehend dangerous situations or the cold temperatures.
He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, gray sweatpants and black shoes. He is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and about 116 pounds. He has brown hair and eyes.
