Suspicious death being investigated in Weld County

Update on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 6:11 p.m.: The victim in this suspicious death has been identified as 48-year-old Heather Frank. Authorities say she was wanted on a warrant in relation to another murder that occurred over the past week. Read more here.


WELD COUNTY, Colo. — The Weld County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspicious death on a private property near Kersey.

The sheriff's office has limited information available, but said there is no threat to the public. The identification of the deceased person will be published after the Weld County Coroner's Office performs an autopsy and notifies next of kin.

Joe Moylan, a Weld County sheriff's spokesman, said the investigation is taking place around US 34 and Weld County Road 45.

No other information on the crime, location or suspect/suspects was available as of 6:45 a.m. Tuesday. This is an ongoing investigation.
