The giant toy store Toys "R" Us is working to fix a mistake that occurred on its website over the weekend.
The company said over the weekend that several promo codes intended only for the store's credit cardholders were accidently shared online and went viral.
"This resulted in an overall deal that was simply too good to be true, as many have noted on social. Orders that should not have qualified for the deal have been cancelled. Credit cards will not be charged for cancellations," a company spokesperson said in a statement to Denver7.
The store just released its Black Friday deals. The 28-page ad is filled with discounts, with some items up to 50 percent off.
Despite a filing for bankruptcy in September, the store said it will have its shelves stocked for the holiday season.
The retailer assures shoppers they're not going anywhere, but just reorganizing despite some rumors.
- All stores will be open this holiday season.
- Gift cards will be sold and honored.
- Return policies will not change.
- Layaway will be open once again.
Per news reports, some suppliers are holding back shipments until they get paid. Makers of fidget spinners, slime kits and other novelty items are holding back sending new stock.
But, attorneys with the company said the shelves will be well stocked.
There's no telling what will happen in the future. If you get a gift card to the toy store, make sure to use it as soon as possible.
