ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — Four cars crashed at S. Parker Road and S. Chambers Road Monday morning and the intersection remained closed through the morning rush hour.
The crash involved four vehicles: a 2012 Ford F-150, 2012 Mercedes SUV, 2008 Mercury sedan and 2012 Nissan, according to Colorado State Patrol.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said at least one person was seriously injured in the crash. One person was extricated from a vehicle.
CSP later confirmed the driver of the Nissan, a 54-year-old man from Aurora, died from his injuries. The driver of the Mercedes had moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital. The driver of the Mercury sedan had minor injuries that didn't require hospitalization. The occupants of the Ford were not injured.
The driver of the Ford was taken into custody and charges will be determined following the investigation. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor, CSP said.
The intersection reopened around 9:15 a.m.
