The Cassini spacecraft has officially ended its 20-year-long trip to Saturn.

The probe transmitted its final signal and deliberately crashed into the planet’s surface Friday morning.

Cassini launched in 1997 and traveled nearly a million miles, reaching Saturn’s system in 2004. Since then, the probe has been exploring the planet and its moons, taking photos and collecting other data along the way.
