PARK COUNTY, Colo. – Law enforcement agencies statewide are exploring multiple leads in the death of the Park County teen whose body was found in her burned home.
Maggie Long, 17, was reported missing last Friday around the same time a fire burned her home. On Thursday, the Park County Sheriff’s Office said remains found inside the home were positively identified as the teen.

An alert sent out to law enforcement agencies across Colorado appeared to describe a potential suspect in Long’s death, however police say they are currently exploring a number of leads in this case, and hope to release more information soon.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who witnessed any suspicious people, vehicles or activities in the area on Dec. 1 to contact the investigative tip line at 303-239-4243.
Correction: An earlier version of this article included information regarding a possible suspect in the Maggie Long investigation in Park County. Since our initial report, the task force investigating every lead has said the scope of this case is extending in numerous directions and suspect descriptions are not yet solid.
An earlier version of the article also stated that a potential suspect was armed and dangerous. However, the Park County Sheriff maintains that there is no threat to the community related to this case at this time.
