BROOMFIELD, Colo. — Wildlife officers are warning neighbors and attempting to locate a bear that was spotted in Broomfield Monday morning.
Broomfield police said multiple people reported seeing the bear in the Anthem Highlands area, with the first report coming in around 6:20 a.m. The bear was last seen in the area of Indian Peaks Parkway and Lowell Boulevard a few hours later, police said.
While officers with Colorado Parks and Wildlife search for the bear to relocate it, authorities are warning people in the area to secure their trash and keep small pets close by and leashed.
