LONGMONT, Colo. – The Colorado State Patrol on Tuesday released the plans for Thursday’s procession and celebration of life for CSP Corporal Dan Groves, who was hit and killed by a driver during last week’s blizzard.

The procession will start at 8 a.m. at the Park ‘n Ride in Mead at the southwest corner of I-25 and Highway 66. It will travel west on the north side of Highway 66 over a seven-mile route to LifeBridge Church in Longmont, which is located at 10345 Ute Highway.

Drivers should expect all the intersections along Highway 66 between I-25 and the church to be closed between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Denver7 plans to stream the procession and celebration of life on our website, social media and other streaming devices.

The celebration of life is open to the public but space will be limited, CSP says. It will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday.

CSP is directing anyone who wants to make a monetary donation in support of Groves to the Colorado State Patrol Family Foundation and the Rocky Mountain Hyperbaric Association for Brain Injuries.
