DENVER - Tuesday's commute slowed considerably in certain areas after crews found a body on railroad tracks in Denver in the early morning.
An oncoming train had to make an emergency stop in the area near South Santa Fe Drive and West Alameda Avenue. The stopped train blocked traffic for several hours.
Denver Police officials originally set up detours, but removed them when the train departed at roughly 9 a.m.
Joe Sloan from BNSF Railway told Denver7 that train crews called authorities after discovering the body. It’s not known how the person died.
It does not appear the RTD light rail was affected.
