Police: Cyclist dies following hit-and-run in Englewood; driver arrested

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. – A woman who was injured by a hit-and-run driver while riding her bike in Englewood on Sunday has died, police said.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Downing Street and Cornell Avenue at around 1:18 p.m. Sunday, police said. At the time, police said the cyclist suffered serious injuries and officers put out an alert for a red Chevrolet sedan wanted in connection to the crash.

Later Sunday, police said the vehicle had been located and a woman had been taken in for questioning.

On Monday morning, police said the cyclist, a woman in her 60s who has not yet been identified, died from her injuries.

The driver, identified as Dominique Cain, 33, was arrested on charges of vehicular homicide; failure to give notice, information and aid; driving without insurance, driving while under restraint, failing to observe a traffic signal and reckless driving.
