DENVER — Police in Denver are conducting a death investigation at a King Soopers parking lot near the intersection of East Hampden Avenue and South Monaco Parkway.

A body was found inside a van parked in the supermarket lot Friday night.

Police were called to the area around 7:40 p.m. on a report of a disturbance. When authorities arrived on scene, they closed off the intersection while they investigated a white van in a nearby King Soopers parking lot.

A SWAT team was called out to the scene and a robot was dispatched to investigate the van. During this time, police had blocked off access to and from the King Soopers parking lot and were escorting supermarket customers away from the lot.

Authorities later discovered a body inside the van. Police have not said how the person died.

It's not clear if police are looking for a suspect or suspects at this time. However, police said there is no longer a danger to the community.

The intersection was later reopened.
