Person on stolen motorcycle dies after Sunday crash in Arvada

ARVADA, Colo. — A person on a stolen motorcycle died on Sunday following a crash in Arvada.

On Sunday around 9 a.m., a driver was entering the southbound lanes of Wadsworth Bouelvard at 76th Avenue when a speeding motorcyclist, who was also driving southbound, collided with the vehicle, according to the Arvada Police Department.

As a result, the northbound lanes of Wadsworth Boulevard were shut down for several hours.

Per an initial investigation, the motorcylist had a revoked driver's license and the motorcycle had been reported stolen, police said.

The motorcyclist had serious injuries and later died. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Arvada police said they are investigating if drugs or alcohol were factors of the crash.

No other information was available as of Monday morning.
