DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — Southbound lanes of Interstate 25 were shut down early Monday after a man was hit and killed by a vehicle near Larkspur.

A box truck struck the man shortly after 4:15 a.m.

"According to initial reports it appears the male party jumped in front of the truck," said Cpl. Ivan Alvarado with the Colorado State Patrol.

Traffic was being detoured on the off and on ramps.

I-25 reopened just before 8:30 a.m.
