Two ambulance crews responded to help one of their own Wednesday morning.
The paramedic and patient riding in an ambulance were hurt in an accident on the way to the hospital. It happened on West Quincy Avenue in Sheridan, west of Federal Boulevard, at about 8 a.m.
It's not clear whether the Action Care Ambulance crashed into another vehicle or simply stopped suddenly, according to the Denver Fire Department.
One ambulance took the injured paramedic to the hospital while the second crew tended to the patient. It's not clear why the patient was being transported in the first ambulance before the accident.
Denver Fire could not release any information about the extent of the injuries related to the accident.
