BOULDER, Colo. — One person died and at least two others were injured after a pickup crashed and split in half in Boulder early Tuesday.

Authorities closed Flagstaff Road between Gregory Canyon and Panorama Point due to the crash. The closure area was about a mile long.

Trooper Josh Lewis with the Colorado State Patrol said the emergency call came in at 1:51 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities learned that a 2004 GMC pickup went down an embankment along the 1100 block of Flagstaff Road.

The truck split in half, Lewis said. The cab and bed of the truck became disconnected.

At least one person died at the scene, he said. Three other people who were in the truck were transported to a Boulder County hospital. They were identified as two 21-year-old females and one 22-year-old male.

The two females had serious injuries. The other male had unknown injuries, Lewis said.
