A motorcycle crash sent one rider off the highway and across a creek west of Morrison.
Colorado State Patrol said an emergency call came in at 5:41 p.m. Tuesday about a crash involving a 2008 Kawaski motorcycle on Highway 74, about three miles west of Morrison.
The driver was identified as 37-year-old Jeffrey MacIntyre of Denver and the passenger was 33-year-old Stephanie Weimar of Lakewood, according to Colorado State Patrol.
They were riding westbound on Highway 74 when the bike went into the eastbound lanes and hit the guardrail, said CSP Troop Josh Lewis.
Weimar was thrown away from the highway and across Bear Creek. She had serious injuries. MacIntyre had minor injuries.
Firefighters from Foothills Fire Rescue and West Metro Fire created a complicated rope system to get a Stokes basket across the creek to the Weimar, according to Ronda Scholting with West Metro Fire.

The rescue took about an hour.
Weimar remained in serious condition as of Wednesday, according to the hospital.
Lewis said speed is likely the cause of the crash, though it's still under investigation.
The highway was closed until 9:20 p.m.
