FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Police in Fort Collins said a man fatally shot a 56-year-old woman on Monday before turning the gun on himself.

The Larimer County Coroner's Office responded to the 6500 block of Lynn Drive in Fort Collins on Monday, where they found 56-year-old Robin Barrett of Fort Collins deceased. An autopsy determined she had been shot in the head, and her death was ruled a homicide.

Authorities said a man who lived at the same address, 47-year-old Scott Rothgery, had killed her before shooting himself the same day.

On Tuesday, the coroner's office was called to the Medical Center of the Rockies, where Rothgery's body was. An autopsy confirmed that the manner of his death was suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

No other information was available as of 10 a.m. Thursday.
