DENVER – A man accused of pimping two women and two teenage girls pleaded guilty in the case and was sentenced to 24 years in prison on Friday, the Denver District Attorney's Office announced.

Orlando L. Johns, 27, was initially indicted on charges of human trafficking for sexual servitude of the two children and two women, the pimping of a child, pandering, procurement of a child for prostitution and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He pleaded guilty to one count of pimping and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, the District Attorney's office said. The teenage girls were 15 and 16.

Authorities said Johns began advertising the girls on Backpage.com in 2015. He arranged for the victims to have sex with men and collected and kept most of the money, renting motel rooms and giving the girls and women methamphetamine "to keep them dependent on him," a news release from the District Attorney's office said.

“I am pleased that the Human Trafficking Unit of my office was able to successfully prosecute and hold accountable a trafficker of girls and women,” Denver District Attorney Beth McCann said in a statement. “My hope is that the victims can now start to rise above this dark time and go on to live meaningful and fulfilling lives."
