Man grabbed teen near Berthoud High School, but she escaped

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. -- A 14-year-old girl standing on a sidewalk waiting for friend said she was grabbed by a man in a hooded sweatshirt, but she managed to escape.

It happened last Thursday night, around 7:30 p.m., near Berthoud High School and the Berthoud Swimming Pool.

The teen told police that the man walked up from behind her, grabbed her arm and pulled her into the street.

The girl said she managed to break free and run away.

The suspect also fled.

The girl said the person who grabbed her was a white man who was about six feet tall with a slender build. The teen said the man was an adult who appeared to have acne scars on his face.

Police officers and a K-9 searched the area, but didn't find the man, or any witnesses.

However, a police sketch artist worked with the victim to create a sketch of the suspect. if you recognize the man, or saw anything last Thursday near 8th Street and Hummingbird Place, call Investigator Rita Servin at 970-498-5167.
