DENVER — One Denver resident was blindsided after a man he befriended made a copy of his truck key and stole it.
The man stole Rafael Garcia’s truck Monday night, but the thief didn’t get far.
Garcia heard the engine of his Ford F350 start up outside his apartment. He immediately ran out the door, hopped in another car and chased his truck down South Federal Boulevard.
The suspect eventually abandoned the truck and took off on foot.
“[It’s a] lesson learned. Don’t let your key get out of your hand, and don’t let things get out of hand,” said Garcia. “Don’t go chasing after your truck like I did.”
Police have made no arrests.
