LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. A man was arrested for a burn which sparked a 525 acre fire and destroyed a bridge.
The Romar Ranch Fire was reported around 3:10 p.m. Sunday on East County Road 82 west of Interstate 25.
"When Deputies arrived, they learned that Merrell Short had been burning debris illegally on his property before the fire spread quickly out of control across surrounding properties," the sheriff's office said in a press release.
Firefighters from Nunn, Wellington and Warren Air Force Base helped bring the fire under control.
Shorter was being investigated for a felony connected to setting fire to woods or prairie.
Firefighters responded back to the scene Monday morning when the fire started again.
