LITTLETON, Colo. – A Denver man is facing a number of sexual assault charges for grabbing the buttocks of teen girls near Arapahoe High School, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Sergio Gallegos-Munoz, 40, was arrested after an “intensive” surveillance operation.

The sheriff’s office received several reports of a man groping girls in November and early December in the area of East Dry Creek Road and South University Boulevard, including at a Starbucks coffee shop across the street from Arapahoe High School.

In each case, the man walked up behind the girls and grabbed their rear ends, deputies said.

The sheriff’s office set up surveillance at the Starbucks and on Dec. 11 at about 6 a.m., a man matching the suspect’s description walked into the store. An employee and a victim who happened to be there at the time identified him as the suspect and deputies took Gallegos-Munoz into custody.

Gallegos-Munoz faces three counts each of sexual assault on a child and unlawful sexual contact.
