Lafayette man wanted after not showing up for trial for charges of sexual assault on a child

LAFAYETTE, Colo. — Law enforcement in Lafayette and the 20th Judicial District Attorney's Office are searching for a 46-year-old man who had been charged with sexual assault on a child and did not showed up for his trial on Monday.

Francisco Barraza-Porras was arrested on Jan. 2 by police in Lafayette and charged with multiple counts of sexual assault on a child. No other information was available on the case.

His trial was scheduled to begin on Monday, but he failed to appear and the court issued a warrant for his arrest, according to the district attorney's office.

Barraza-Porras's last known address was in Lafayette.

Authorities are now searching for him and have asked for the public's help locating him. Anybody with information on his whereabouts should contact Investigator Kristin Weisbach at 303-441-3811.
